During the first few months the feathers tend to move around and the quills on the feathers can poke through the seams or the fabric. The more the down settles, however, the less down will leak.</p> <p> </p> <p>When you see a feather poking out of the outer material, the best thing to do is to gently push the feather back into the jacket and rub the spot to close the fabric.</p> <p> </p> <p>How much down leaks out varies from jacket to jacket and depends on all kinds of factors. The hybrid insulation consists of two natural and biodegradable insulation materials u2013 down and wool. Down and wool have long lifespans, longer than most synthetic materials. This ensures a long-lasting performance of our jackets and reduces the impact on the environment. Only 100% recycled down is used, reducing the carbon footprint and saving large amounts of water. The wool is sourced in Europe and processed in Germany.
